CO2 Query

One bit of clarity please.
My tickover is at about 6-700 RPM
Shall I set that correctly before adjusting the TPS, or adjust the TPS then set idle.
I know the engine shouldn't be running, but just need to know if the correct idle position should be set first.
Big thanks for setting this straight please.

A massive thank you guys:D
My TPS was reading .7 V:eek:
So, took it down to .36V, went from 145 per tank to fuel light on up to 170 to light on.
Tweaked it to .33V, now light on at 190:D
Re the .33V, I'll check my butterfly positions in better weather, but for now, I'm over the moon.
Thanks again
:D:D:D

Glad it worked for you too. :)

Does any body know why the TPS goes out of adjustment? You would think that with the adjustment screws being 'sealed' with a dab of blue paint and the fact that Haynes says don't touch it that it should stay put. (Well I would anyway). I suppose it's a case of maintaining BMW's profits in doing a simple adjustment which if known about can be tackled by any half-decent home mechanic.

Cynic? Me? Never.

Anyway, glad you sorted it. Well worth the cost of a multimeter in petrol saving alone, never mind the log-term wear caused by rich running.

Take care

Local dealer had replaced hall sensor and had tried some other injectors. So I assume they fiddled with the throttle bodies; who knows:rolleyes:
Anyway, what's the point in saving money, when tonight on the way home from work, the petrol station had a set of screwdrivers on offer, with a really natty flexible drive:D
Do I really need more screw drivers?
Mmmmm tools.....:P
