Cobblers

I need to get a pair of walking boots re-soled properly somewhere reasonably locally.

They're my daughters Lowa boots that I got second hand from the Army Surplus shop - Goretex lined, beautifully made - but the grip soles have parted company with the soles and need properly fixing.

Thing is, her Duke of Edinburgh Gold expedition is coming up soon and she hasn't time to break in a new pair, and she finished her practice expedition with both soles attached with gaffer tape

This didn't impress her assessor, so I need to make sure that the repair is sound and professional.

Anyone recommend somewhere in the North that could look after the repair?

Sarah got her Doc Martin boots sorted by the above (bit different from walking boots, but, maybe able to help)

Alternatively, Tiso on Grainger St, did / does or used to repair walking / mountaineering boots, not in the shop, but sent away ( I think they used a cobbler locally to be honest)

If all else fails you do do worse than speak to LD Mountain Centre, they always are pretty helpful

They make and repair my walking boots. I dont know if they'll do repairs to non Alt-berg though. Worth a try, they are top quality and reasonably local (Richmond).

I did think of Altberg, but wasn't sure they would do non-Altberg boots.
Have to give them a ring.
