coil stick

Talking of which - are the new, replacement, coil sticks more reliable than the earlier ones?

I think so, but I could be talking shite.

I've just replace all 4 of mine on the 12. Runs very smoothly now. Huge difference.

All 4 I have twin plug head, but I thought there were only 2 coils....need to go and study the Haynes manual methinks.

By "on the 12", I assume he means a 1200.

There are only two stick coils on the 1150, but there will still have to be at least one other coil (probably two) for the other two spark plugs.

My understanding too.

If there are, I have never found them in the 14 years I have owned it....

14 years and you still didn't find it? Did you never wonder what made the high voltage for the secondary plugs?
Doing something for a long time doesn't mean you're doing it right. ;)

Thank you - is that on an 1150? Because I have taken the seat off and can't find anything like that on mine....half the reason I have never found them in the 14 years is, because I haven't had to - they all still work. :aidan

Your wiring looks like a plate of coloured spaghetti

Yes. It's my twin-spark 1150 Adventure. You have to take the tank off too. Mine all still work too, but I knew there had to be at least one more for the secondary plugs. I've got a curious mind, so I looked for it this morning.
If you take your tank off, you'll find your wiring looks the same - that's genuine BMW spaghetti.

Fank Yooo - it is a long time since I saw under the tank. I couldn't place the alloy cover in the bottom of the picture. Glad I sparked some curiousity (see what I did there? :thumby: )
