Second film I've managed to get on the net, going up the famous Col de Turini, including a scary second or two for me, I was a bit distracted, ah well, you'll see

Grtz, Philip!

Good lord! I'd have had to chuck myself over the side if I'd been listening to that. Lovely place though.

This is also a very famous stage from The Monte Carlo Rally, normally with lots of snow and ice when they do it.

Sunshine and mountain roads, lovely :D

Was there 2 weeks ago, flippin' brilliant. Can't wait to get back. :beerjug:

9.45 ish looked a bit dodgy. was it the sudden change in road surface which distracted you?

Lovely route
:D

Nope, I guess it was a combination of things.

First of all, the treeline was weird, I mean, I try to see the way the road is going to, and mostly the trees beside the road help you predict where it's going. Not this time though, I thought the hairpin was gonna start behind the last tree, a very short hairpin to say, but it started earlier than I guessed.
The road went to the left between the two last trees, before going to the right, something I didn't see untill it was (probably) to late.

Second of all, I was catching up with my mate, at the moment I made the mistake, he was just 20m in front of me, and I was surprised to see him there, so I looked at him instaed of where the road was going to :nono

And even maybe, I was getting a wee bit unfocused :mmmm

Anyway, I went straight ahaed 'cause I could, if there had been no open space on the right side of the last tree, I just would've pushed the bike down, and took the turn as it should  The reasson why I didn't was because I saw no reason to take the risk of pushing my bike into a curve I only saw at the last moment, I had space to spare, though it being off-road

@ unhinged and PhilM: I take it you didn't like the music, or is it sarcastic?
Not being an Englisch native speaker, I sometimes don't get the clue :(

Grtz, Philip!

Donde?

Roughly where is this pass (near Turin presumably)

Can someone give me road numbers or rough directions, as am heading over that way end of Aug.

Thanks

Will

It's in France, not near Turin, and it's the road between Sospel and La Bolène-Vesubie. Try looking for Monaco on a map, go a bit up North, and you schould see Sospel, it's about 60Km's from the Med.

Grtz, Philip!

Col du Turini

Great biking roads - I have been there a couple of times. The hotels were a bit sad & neglected , it looks like an area that the tourists have deserted but making it all the better for bikes.
