Currently contemplating selling one my R100Gs's to fund an '83 R80 G/S (dark blue tank).

Am interested in your thoughts about which GS is a better collector -'89 white bike or '91 Bumblebee.

If the purchase goes ahead I will have an R80G/S, R80G/S PD, R100GS & R100GSPD which I reckon is a good representation of the airhead GS family.:)

Thinking also about a K1 -should I slap myself or are they OK as a regular rider?

I prefer the white bike myself but I think the bumblebee might look better as a part of a collection.

Of course you need a R80GS and a Basic in your collection too. And an R65GS. :blast Don't worry about the K's yet, you've still got to finish the GS set first. :rob

Don't think I will find basic in OZ and I can't recall seeing an R80GS for sale here -but I could be wrong, it has happened once before:D:D

Re: the whole set. Some where I read "Save the Whales -collect the whole set":nenau

Sounds a nice collection of beemers. The K1 is a great if unusual bike, pig ugly in some eyes but a very usable everday bike with lots of go and surprisingly good handling. very comfy too. Blue and yellow one was nice.

The '89 bike, much nicer, but then I have one :augie

One thought, there'll be more swaps available between the '89 bike and the mono, eg headlights if you needed to defect diagnose etc.

Being the Pedantic bastard that I am :rob
Surely you mean a Blue R80g/s :blast

Little g little s = monolever :thumb2
Except in ther case of the R65G/S monolever which was an oversight by the Kraut marketing dept
G/S are paralevers, which imho are not as desirable or as nice to ride as the mono's

Now you know why I am considering a K1 -very hard to get that model designation wrong:D:D
