Finally dragged myself in from the garage this eve...

Collected my new 1200GS from Wollaston this afternoon, dynamic and premium packs on board, and few bits added too.... (lots more to add i'm sure!).

The weather was kind and the first rideout was fantastic, handles so sweetly and the engine /gearbox are amazingly good from the off.

First proper tripout is all planned for the weekend , 3days in the Lake District, which should be kinda fun - booked my 1st service for next week too :-)

Love the colour, looks great. Keep an eye on the oil level, mine burnt quite a lot over the first 1000 miles.

Enjoy it :beerjug:

Happy new bike.:thumb

I'm not sure on the new colour..............yet!:hide

ta for the comments, weekend weather is looking great for running in trip - sounds like i might need to take a drop of oil with me - i'll not ask the question about which? :-)

I think the colour looks better in the flesh, and yep takes a bit of getting used too. Next year its white, silver/grey or lupin blue.

Sat Nav fitted, charging lead fitted, just need the bits from NN to arrive now, mudslinger x and fender extender.

Nice, like the blue. As for watching the oil level? You'll never run it dry in a few days. Drive it hard for the 600 will do it more good than harm. Enjoy:thumb

Enjoy, just over one year in on a Anniversary Model GS and lovin it, 6k on the clock already :bounce1

ps. realease the power and have it mapped at Hilltop ;);)

looks great like that :thumb2

approaching 700 miles on mine, due its first service.

Can believe how punchy the powerplant is even running in, I've given mine plenty of beans running in but kept to 4K revs latterly 5K max. 6th gear pulls hard too. Sweet gearbox aswell, no complaints at all. Mines needed no oil have kept an eye on the level.

I picked up my new one in silver from Motorrad Central in Bishopbriggs today. First impressions are of the much fruitier exhaust note, especially at idle where it really rumbles, in comparison with my '09 which I traded in. Also the gearbox is much slicker.

It had 1 mile on it when I rode out of the showroom with my son on the pillion, so it's much too early to make any performance comparisons; although it currently feels tighter than a gnat's chuff. I've started off with a 4K rpm limit and thought I might add 1K rpm for each 150 of the first 600 miles....:nenau

Can't believe you have scratched it already:pullface

Ouch! had to double / triple check that!! nah - sun light trick in the photo - phew! :-)

Fitted a mudsling max and matching front fender extender - all looks pretty trick. Route is planned on the nav, thrown a few bits in a bag..........

..........and i've gotta work another day and sleep two nights before the off - my misses can't under stand the excitement :-) women eh!

It fills the garage a bit more than the F650gs i had before!!! - have to walk around the engine now :thumb2

For those that have collected a new BMW, what should I expect to receive, in addition to the bike ofcourse!? With my HD I got a sizeable wallet/folder with cleaning materials, spare key in a box etc. Thanks.
