Exchanged my 2015 GS last week for a new Exclusive .I find the GS seat to be comfortable but thought for£45 I'd get the comfort seat. The problem is the seat is definitely not as comfortable as my last GS ,my wife and I are getting arse and thigh ache after about 50miles ! I have done just over 400 miles in total and it's not getting any better.First service booked next week so I'll see what they have to say .

Anyone found the same the same problem ?

Had a 2016 GS tb with comfort seat which was quite good. Now have 2017 gsa tb and seat is horrible. Very hard and not comfy.

Thought this too as i came from 14 bike i done 450 mile on it one day, and today after 50mile my arse knew it ona 17 bike.

Hoped it would soften up

I have the 2017 and thought the seat was pretty comfy. 5,000mls in as well:nenau:nenau

I have a 2014 GSA and although it isn't a new Exclusive, my experiences might help. I started to get pain while riding after about 20 minutes, which would last all day. At one time I thought I would have to give up riding as it was becoming so painful.

I tried, a lowered OEM seat, Airhawke, gel pads, lowered footrest, but none worked. I took advice from other forum members, bit the bullet and bought a Sargent seat. They're not cheap, but I know they hold their value and are snapped up on the forum, so took a chance. So far (three thousand miles), I have not had any pain while using that seat. I used a loan bike at the last service and was in pain within 20 minutes.
I don't know what they do that makes their seats so superior and I don't care, just as long as I can either transfer this seat to my next bike or buy one to replace the OEM seat from day one.
(I am not a director or employee of the company that designs and produces Sargent seats).

£629 for a pair of Sargents,if the dealer can't help I may have to purchase some.Trip planned to France in May ,won't be an enjoyable experience with these "comfort seats" !!

Hi, I found my 2015 GS to be very uncomfortable in the bum department compared to my 2013 GS; so had the seat repadded following advice from people in the Sheffield bike club who have used this company for years - I'm very happy with mine. Link is below (I'm not an employee of them). Might be worth a look?

The Sargent suits me too. Not quite as plush as the Sargent on the 1200 TC but all day comfortable for me.

I've got the exclusive/comfort seat(high) combination. Seems fine to me, worth the extra £45 IMHO.

What works for one, doesn't always work for another. Some of the solutions don't cost a thing to try. E.g. Snap up the next Airhawke on the forum, if that doesn't work, sell it for about what you paid for it.
What you can't do is do nothing. Being uncomfortable or worse, in pain, can only distract from the enjoyment of riding a motorbike and doesn't aid concentration!

I'm not finding the comfort seat on my exclusive as good as the standard seat on my 2015 gs. The old seat was all day comfortable, but this one was uncomfortable after 100 miles.

I tried the Sargent seats and both SWMBO and myself found them uncomfortable. The standard seats got better with age and we didn't really have any problems on long tours to Italy or the West Coast of Scotland

Uncomfortable is perched on a Triumph 675R strip of leather for a saddle all day. Or a bicycle Selle Italia Racing blade seat.

My 2017 GSA is luxury in comparison.

I'd also suggest you buy mountain bike padded shorts as they dont cost a lot, dont change the shape of your bike, and are comfortable.

The dealer changed the seats for standard GS seats today, did some mileage to make sure they were OK,much better than the "comfort "seats so I've kept them, shame I liked the look of those not so comfy comfort seats!
