Hi there,
Is there a comfy seat out there for the 650GS? I want to be able to ride 300 miles a day in comfort, has anyone actually got a really comfy seat??
Any advice will be great, thanks.

Something like this?

I rode 1040 miles in a day on my 800GS using the Touratech Comfort Seat and a sheepskin, best I could get it to be honest (and my 12GS with the standard seat is still more comfortable!)

Get an Airhawk small cruiser seat pad for around $99.
I am a skinflint and the change for this amount of money was simply unbelievable. I didn't believe the claims about Airhawks until I got one for myself and tried it. I believe the claims now.

They don't suit some people though. I, for example, couldn't feel "part of the bike" with the Airhawk. Even though I barely had any air in it as instructed it still felt like I was disconnected from the bike and a bit floaty :(

I got the TT high touring seat on my F650GS twin (Kahedo made), it was firmer now its given but it ok up to about 1.5 hours. however air hawk 2 is one of my best purchases just the ordinary plasic one mind :rob with little air i think my 15 stone eliminates the what you call float..... 16 hour days in the alps no numb bum, fresh as a daisey..... added a dead sheep with 2 small ratchet straps (proper bike one not any old sheep) helps hide the airhawk on tour I leave it all on at all times, and secondly more padding, no sweaty betties, and if you stand even briefly and sit its cool as a cucumber lush mondo :beerjug: :thumb2

All that lamb hair im quite jealous of it :comfort

:aidan

Have gone for a Sargent, was toss up between that and a Corbin. The Corbin was £100 more & takes about 8 weeks....the Sargent was cheaper & in stock...so it won.
Will update on how I get on with it in a few days.

Same here. Cheap sheepskin from Lambland (£11) is a good start. Wait for an Airhawk to come up on here. Bought and sold mine without losing any money.

I think we should take a leaf out of the F800 Girlies book :rob I think some of them are using Adult Nappies, I can see the advantages extra all round padding, maybe longer between wee stops :aidan most of the service stations have a special changing room just for this :D

Plus number 2s will increase the padding, which will help further as the day progresses.

The Sargent seat is wonderful, well worth every penny :)

Guzzzi, Now you have had the seat a while are you still happy with it? Also do you find it holds you in a forward position, I do all my riding 1 up and tend to sit back a bit away from the front.

I'm on the BMW comfort seat. Pricey, but miles better than the standard plank. Went to France and Spain this year, no big miles, but probably over 500 on the last day, and no problems at all. The standard seat wouldn't even get me to Portsmouth without bum ache.

V8legend, How tall are you? Or more specific inside leg measurement? I am 6' with 31" inside leg. Also do you have standard screen? As comfort seat cheaper than most of others. Thanks

I'm a short arse, about 5' 9"/5' 10" with a 29" inside leg. Using a comfort seat together with the touring screen. The comfort seat is better padded, and wider than standard, and a little taller. If you find yourself nearby, then you're welcome to try it.
