I am planning a run up the west coast in a couple of weeks, spent 4 years there and always planned to return on me bike, so far playing it by ear but sorted a camp site for 1st night just south of the Skye ferry.

Hope you get good weather then. Anywhere in particular you'd like to go?

sorted a camp site for 1st night just south of the Skye ferry.

The campsite on the way into the Glenelg ferry looks like a great place to stop:thumb2 It's a great wee road to drive as well- stunning views from the top on both sides of the kyle.

Hope you get the weather- it's minging here in Argyll today:(

Wully I will have a word with her in doors and get the upgraded ver. my mate was up there 2 weeks ago and got savaged by them.

Well here's a dilema, i have been wanting to come up to Gods country for years and never made it, i have a weekend pass for the 3rd-7th July and am planning to come up but it is also the Hogroast weekend what to do :nenau

Hmmm...Dead pig on a stick or stunning scenery and a good chance of getting eaten alive by midges?

Difficult choice.

Toss a coin.

Thanks, there will be 3-4 of us and arriving late Friday 10th July.
Not sure what i will be using (won't be the Vespa anyway) either the Tenere or Tiger
Me mates on a 850GS and ZZR14 both bought from fellow tossers and if the other guys coming TDM850. Just gotta find me camping stuff now.

Well, one is bringin his missus and wants B&B, so i am looking for a reasonable B&B/Hotel around Glencoe and maybe north Skye for the 2nd night onwards. So we are all going for digs as it means we don't have to hump the camping gear.
Found the Clachaig Hotel so far , any recommends ?

Lots of B&B`s in Glencoe village itself. It has its own tourist information site.
The views from the Clachaig would take some beating though.
Do a search on the SS for Skye B&B it’s a question that gets asked frequently.
Lots of usefull info on the Discover Scotland thread.
Take the Glenelg Ferry over the sea to Skye.
Pray the weather holds, not for you, Im on holiday next week as well :D

Thanks G C just sittin here with me map working out the route, i had forgotten about the Glenelg ferry aswell
