I have a GS12, built in July 05 (this may be important). Just fitted a pair of Ohlins GSA shocks BM606,607 which make it a little taller
I knew it would make a difference to how the stands work, but this is a little too much to ignore. On the side stand the bike leans over at 45° the centre stand it wobbles badly and the rear wheel is very much in contact with the ground.
I have a couple of hockey pucks which I believe is a common mod, however even if I fix a hockey puck it will still be leaning over more than I would like.
I have no problem with buying the ADV stands if i have to, but I was wondering if anyone has experience of changing the stands between model years and models. There seems to be a cut off on side stands on standard GS12's of late 05. Is this because of a change in length or the fitment to the frame? I don't want to buy an ADV SS for it not to physically fit to my bike.
I have thought of adding a piece into the stand, but this would be a last resort.
Anybody have any other ideas?
BTW, the Ohlins are awesome!
