When I plug my 2610 into my computer it goes bong then does 2 quick bongs then when I try to find it from mapsource it cant` It looks like the pc picks it up but I don`t know how to make it see the gps. I`ve got 4 USB ports but none of them will work. I`ve got CN9 installed, just today.

Sadly I`m too simple to sort out this problem as the bloody pc has been pissing me about all day

Any help much appreciated :thumb2

Cheers

Sounds as though the USB drivers in Mapsource are not working. Did you update Mapsource as part of loading CN2009? Suggest you remove Mapsource (Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs), re-boot the PC and then re-install Mapsource.

If you still have a problem it may be an issue with the version of Mapsource that you are using (I'm assuming that Mapsource was updated when you loaded your new maps). I think that the latest maps need to load on the PC using the latest Mapsource version, so if using the latest Mapsource version is the root of your problem then you may need a way of using an older version of Mapsource with the 2009 maps. There is a way of doing this, but I don't have the link handy. Lots of ifs and maybes so try the straight re-install first.

Would try re-installing the latest USB drivers off the Garmin website befroe you do owt else.
