my laptop is about a year old and is on windows 2007, however I had to have a product key and pay for it etc etc and being a tight northern git I simply installed windows 2003 for nowt.

Now here is the problem I'm half way through a powerpoint presentation I did in windows 2003 and saved it in my documents, the problem I have is that now when I open my powerpoint presentation from my documents its opening in 2007 which I cant use as I dont have the product key and have not paid for the privillage. I simply want to open and save in 2003 but I dont appear to be given that option.

Any advice welcome remembering I'm not only a tight Northern git but a thick one as well so step by step please.

Cheers
Steve

I guess you mean Office 2003 and Office 2007.

If you right click the file in Explorer does it give you an option to 'Open using' ?

If so choose Office 2003

Wot Johnny Old Boy said......or open PPT 2003 first then locate and open the file from there. Are you sure you saved it as a 2003 version?

I had the same issue with the so-called pre installed software and ended up binning MS Office altogther. Get OpenOffice for free......:beerjug:

Open office works well but we ended up getting a licence from Comet for £70.

Try right click on the file then open with option to see what options you get there.

Many many thanks chaps, I opened it from 2003 then breathed a huge sigh of relief.

Cheers
Steve
