Why is a BMW computer neccessary to change the brake fluid on an 04 servo ABS GS1200? 
Can't get my head round that. And it's a £90 job.

It can be done without the computer. They have a post in the halls of wisdom over on Advrider on how to do it without.

Took some finding, but the concern seems to be about the speed the servo sucks the fluid away (hence the funnel etc) rather than why the comp is required???

there is a bleed test that should be done after brake change that needs the GT1 computer. AFAIK it has nothing to do with the actual bleed process, it's just a check afterwards, but i might be wrong.
they couldn't do it on my non servo bike because of a power cut, but no one seemed concerned.
