Confirmed list - what are you riding on the trip?

Well for what it's worth I think you should fit the Akras. I have a full titanium Akra system ready to fit on my Megamoto. I really do think loud pipes save lives.

Sound bloody great too :beerjug:

Yeah...I've fitted Akras or Termis to every other bike I've had...:drool

...I'm just thinking that this year, I may get better 'value' by doing another trip somewhere.

Decisions, decisions!!!

I'm off for a lie down in a darkened room!:boobies

UPDATE

'kin ell Yoy. Lot of mods there. What's the "rim tape" for? Sounds like a gay sex aid :D

:jes

There's not that much, really. Most of it is functional and most of it's hidden, and it means that getting it done now means I can fine tune the packing and stuff.

Some of it's pure bling - like the rim tape :D and gimp suit :toungincheek and the Touratech rear brake cylinder cover  - but I don't intend sticking anymore crud on it!

Just for you....here's the gay rim tape in full Technicolor...(Nokia N95 - begins with 'N' lol)

That looks bloody gorgeous :thumb2

These orange bikes are really tempting and I know they ride and handle well. Only problem for me is that I'm a giant :aidan

Just comparing sizes of the 2 bikes - MM/SM

Wheelbase 1615/1510mm
Seat Height 889/875mm

So the SM is nearly as high but shorter. Sounds like a wheelie machine :D

:thumb2:thumb2:beerjug: My brother made me buy one - quite glad I did.

You're more than welcome to take mine for a spin - if you can wait that long?! :comfort

Unless, of course, you're anywhere near St Malo on 21 March? A long shot, but...I'm there for the day, just for something to do, and add some mileage on the Katoomster.

Apparently, they are good for wheelies, but I'm not really into that kind of thing - too concerned about skin-tarmac interface issues :augie I do slightly envy people that can, though...:rob

A giant? Blimey. I'm 5' 11" in my platform socks, and borderline obese...:bounce1

Just been out again, as it's Friday, the Sun's shining, and needed a breath of air. Still grinning...

Bit of a dilemma...

Chaps

I have an opportunity to get one of these bad boys at a pretty good price.

RC8_orange_90__re_weiss.jpg

I'm not sure it would to be totally comfortable getting to and around the Alps, and luggage options could be interesting! :)

Has anyone tried something as extreme as this on a long distance tour? I did take a Ninja 600 to the south of France, Andorra, and Spain and back a few years ago, and that wasn't that bad comfort-wise...

...mind you, I may still add it to the Joybringer Garage, especially as my other half, the lovely Mrs Joybringer, rides. :comfort

:D

Yep - it's like all the Kwaks I've owned have always been Lime Green. This is the one I rode 3,200 miles through France, Spain and Andorra, in 2003.

It's certainly a stunning bike and I'm sure you'd have fun with it in the Alps.

BUT. Not as much fun as you would on the SM purely because of the riding position. Going up would be fine but going down would put a hell of a lot of pressure on your wrists. Also some of the hairpins are tighter than Madonna was when she was tight :D The extra leverage of the SM's upright riding position would really come into its own.

Went to buy a Kreiga ruck sack at the weekend and came away with this little beauty....:nenau

Still fcuk it... as Magnum says NO REGRETS!!!

Bloody Nora

The Bikes are getting faster and sexier :coold

If this carries on I'll have to reconsider my options :rocketwho

Having owned both RC8 and MV 1000,I can safely say that they would be a nightmare on alpine hairpins, especially the MV !!!

Suppose I could always bring my Blade :

:drool:drool:droolDont think yr going to see much of the alps . your all going to be too busy admiring each others bikes :drool:blagblah:drool:blagblah:drool

Very pretty but tend to agree with magnum , total nightmare on the rists:agree

Blimey! Ever wish you hadn't said anything? :hide

:D:D

I think I'll be sticking to me SM - the RC8 would be nice, but would definitely play havoc on my wrists.

That MV is luvverly, and that's probably the best looking Blade I've seen.

Yeah, but no, but, yeah but no, but it's the SM for me!!
