Confirmed list - what are you riding on the trip?

Favourite at the mo is my 950 SE :

Just had heated grips fitted and got a Renazco seat due in March.
I'm thinking about one of these seats but they are quoting 6-8 weeks lead time

Did you buy another seat and sent it away?

James Renazco got a new seat from KTM USA and reworked that.

6-8 weeks lead time sounds very good.

I ordered mine in October and was given a March build date !!

Well, I never! Spy pictures!

I took the family to the Science Museum in London last Saturday.

I was quite surprised to see that BMW was there in force, displaying their new modifications to improve the GS' straight-line stability...

Note the saucer catching engine oil ;)

They also displayed their all-weather protection solution...

/secret message to follow BMW owners on the trip. Let's wee in Yoy's tank and wipe that smug grin off his face. Keep this between us.

Joking aside, after a major row with a KTM dealer yesterday, I may well swap my Katoom for a Beemer sooner than I thought...

...not sure about the bubble-car though. Mind you, my older brother had one in the late sixties...

Wonder what I'd get for my SM against a GS or GSA??

Hmmm....

Looks like you'll be taking the KTM after all eh Yoy? You've found your perfect bike. I'm still looking for mine :nenau

Currently thinking about one of these puppies :drool

THAT is a luvverly piece of bike porn.

If I'd seen that before I fell in love with Katie, I may have been converted to run on leaded, or bat for the other side.

That has to be what we were talking about for your perfect bike - go for it!

I have to say, that I really do believe I've found a really good ride. V-twin, fast, grippy, torquey, above average comfort, better than average wind protection, reasonable tank range...and orange :D

Shame about the Lubetronic, though

Can't see me wanting to change it any time soon.

Mind you, a brace of those puppies would look pretty cool dans the Alps  ;)

Looks like I'm riding the GSA. Just deciding what aftermarket exhaust to fit. Not taking panniers either. Tankbag and tailbag for the win :thumb

Exhaust ordered. Look at these bad boys :D:D:D

I prefer the single can myself (sorry-just being honest...................:comfort )
I thought you had a single Akra can for the MM,if that will fit the 12GSA and you're looking to get rid, drop me a pm :thumb2
Cheers,
Steve.

Mags i was looking at that exhaust when i bought mine and got offered one for 500 qiud (about a grand new i think ) but got told they are not road legal as they sound like a old stock car , a nice sounding old stock car that is :augie.

Dont think yr panniers fit with it either, not 100% sure but might be worth lookin into before you spend yr cash mate.:thumb2

I was told you can get baffels made for them but even with them they are very loud,
As far as looks go they look great:thumb2:drool:thumb2

Thanks for the info mate :thumb2

I'm told they are loud but opinions vary as to how loud exactly. Panniers will fit.

Just been told they won't ship for 2 weeks

Looks like I have time to change my mind.

Maybe the Akro headers and single Ti can would be better as it has a removable baffle :nenau

Thanks for the info mate :thumb2

The headers are the next thing on my shopping list , i didnt know that akro did them i thought only remus did:confused: but i havent really looked into them that much yet .

With the akro can with std headers there is a difference in sound with the baffle in The headers change make the most difference due to it removing the cat:thumb2

I got my akro can from dealer (500quid) was cheaper than nippy norms(550quid) only differance is the writing on the side (i personally prefer the dealer can ):thumb2

How much have you been quoted fot headers ?
