confusing issue with 1150

mate of mine has a single spark 1150 that apon starting will only run for about 5 seconds before stalling every time

turn the ignition on the fuel pump primes .

both throttle cables are seated properly , plugs are ok

it wont respond if you give it any throttle or the fast idle either

any ideas ? as all the obvious seem ok

last time it was used was for a 150mile run and was no issues at all , it was then parked up and a few weeks later he tried to start it and its been as above since

blocked fuel filter clean the tank out, water in the tank?

blocked tank breather?
my old bonnie played up after id cleaned the filler cap ,id blocked the breather hole with crud
gave similar symptoms

interesting , the thing i cant get my head around there is no vacume when the cap is released , and on the last ride she was going like a dream

did Forry not have a similar problem with his 1150 ? and it turned out to be the hall sensors ?

might be worth checking the wiring round the head stock, for the broken wire the zip tie can cause

the wiring around the headstocks fine mate

i was always given to believe the hall sensors just gave up and went dead ?

is there any way of testing them , they are a bit pricey to just buy one to see if it works

Swop over the TPS from your bike and see if that makes a difference, but I'd guess the hall sensors. I've had a couple of bikes in with the exact same problems.

I even changed the fuel pressure regulator on one because the hall sensors checked out ok, and it would sit idling all day long but the moment you touched the throttle the engine would stop.

Swop over the TPS from your bike and see if that makes a difference, but I'd guess the hall sensors. I've had a couple of bikes in with the exact same problems.

I even changed the fuel pressure regulator on one because the hall sensors checked out ok, and it would sit idling all day long but the moment you touched the throttle the engine would stop.

this is what my gs did when the hall sensor was fecked sounds like chads got similar problem

Had the same symptoms but it was the alarm system immobilising the bike.. it would start if you ignitioned off and then on.. five seconds later dead.. just like the video..
