I'm considering an f650st for sale locally, the asking price is around £1700. The bike is an R reg with 6500 on the clock. two points, is this a reasonable price, and is there anything to be aware of. At present it has a problem with a duff battery, but the (reluctant - wife wants him to buy a horse) seller plans to change it.

The bike is in clean condition and has city panniers, top box and aftermarket heated grips.

Depends what you want. The last week or so I have been watching ebay closely and have seen
1. Immaculate 50k R1100RS 1994 go for 1200
2. Immaculate K100RS 30K go for 1200

If I had the cash and was not about to go off to asia for four months I know which one of the three would be last on my list. The 1100RS would be first....

I think this is a good deal but can be reduced slightly just because of the year

Should be A1 for that price I think. I paid 2400 for a X reg FL with 8k on the clock FSH and panniers.

Seems a bit pricey to me, should be collecting an '03 GS for not a huge amount more. Would be hoping for around £100/1200 at that year but I'm no expert.

An F 650 ST?

" .... and the dead [thread] arose and appeared to many ..." :D
I've just been offered a non runner '98 reg. 25k miles and it's off the road allegedly due to suspected carb problem. :nenau

What can the collective tell me?
Please. :kissy2: :D

All i know so far is that it looks like a right f*cker to work on - and if i mention it to my Guru and mechanicking guide - the long suffering Agony Uncle ( :bow Dr. Farkoff on here) - He'll probably swing for me! :duck:
It's extremely cheap and would be great if i could turn it into a few bob back to me or i must admit, i'd love it for commuting and the (rare  ) bit of training i do.

Ta muchly in advance. :thumb2

.. if i hear a distant wail and scream coming from a Northerly direction - Dr. Farkoff's just read this
:blast

Sethmopp......Seems a bit expensive to me - I sold a Y reg ST a few years back for about the same amount. Mileage is very low - has it been stored for a few years (not necessarily good)? They're solid bikes - bit heavy to steer but reliable.
