I just want to book a service and explain a few things to the service team.

There's now no direct line to a person - with online and WhatsApp being the only options, where you wait for them to see fit to message you back.

Having got nowhere with my local dealer, I decided to phone my next nearest dealer - guess what - exactly the same crap procedure.

Both dealers are Sytner - perhaps other non Sytner dealers are different?

Midlands area.

Sadly this is the way of the world now

My local Ford dealership operates a similar arse about face system

I find it easier to walk in and book the service face to face

Sounds very much like Sytner in Wolves. I had exactly the same experience with them last month.

Ever thought of just phoning?

Once your on the shop floor, just ask for a transfer to the relevant bod

I just phone Williams in Manchester, a girl answers and books me in.
Just like the good ol days lol

Only downside is they are busy so you need to book in about 3-4 weeks before you need your service/MOT doing.

that's not busy

Cotswold, especially after M&P in Cardiff shut, had a 3 month lead time in early spring

Brands are no longer into building relationships. Funny how they spent gazillions on building customer loyalty to then throw it in the trash can. Ah well...wait ten years and that strategy will be back.

Barrie Robson at York is the last family owned BMW Motorrad dealership I guess

Last of the best
No pissing about
Straight through on the phone

A major gripe with BMW is the dealerships.
My Guzzi came from an old school bike shop. I know half the staff by first name and they know me.
A much better experience 😁

I've given up with main BMW stealers, now using an excellent Indie for my BMW work.

The whole 'contact us' thing seems to be a lottery. I've lost count of the number of firms/websites etc that I have tried in vain to find a contact telephone number so have used the contact form (The one they've specifically put on their website for me to use to erm...contact them)....only for it to be ignored. Honda Motorcycles UK, some main dealers/car dealers...both here in France and in the UK.

Just to pick up on my post above. I contacted a couple of UK Honda dealers to try to verify that my 2024 NT has a flat beam LED headlight...thus making re registering it in the UK when I return from France, goes smoothly. Not a peep out of either. I email Honda UK. A nice chap their wrote a long splathering email telling me to contact Honda France as that is where i live and when I get to the UK contact a dealer. He must have spent longer typing the email than simply checking the headlight part no for UK and EU and telling me they're the same or different. I replied to him telling him as much. So 4 Honda dealers....2 French 2 UK, Honda France and Honda UK have all either failed to get back to me....(the 5 former)..or got back to me passing the buck...the latter. What a shit show. I really feel like selling it here and buying a different brand in the UK...they've been so shit at customer service for what should be an easy answer. Wankers

All brands are the same unfortunately

I've never had any issues with my local (West Midlands) Sytner dealer. Most of the time they phone me up lol. Either that or I pop in if I'm passing to book any work :)
Maybe it's just me

I called Halliwell Jones in Chester on Tuesday morning to book a service and the lovely Sarah on the service desk picked up after 3 rings.
