I keep thinking I might do it myself but I really like an oily rag, doesn't worry me getting it dirty....might have to have a peep at the front brake if you can call it a brake!

Right I’m sorted for now, having just invested in something awesome I can ride right out of the box.

But a nice old GS in the Spring will fill the ‘gentle off road’ gap in the fleet.

In the spirit of ‘Ride more, build less’ I’ve taken on Martin (Berin’s) awesome 690R. We have a couple of big trips coming up, I was going to use the 640 Adv but will put that up for sale now.

So the fleet is the Ducati MTS for hooning, KTM for adv/gnarly off road. Just need a nice 1100/1150 GS for the soft off/on road trips. Something like a Desierto conversion would be ideal.

There’s an 1150 with a gearbox issue in fsaw.

Cheers Mike, spotted that. Did you ever come across anyone who made the headstock/frame conversion to fit conventional forks? I know about Berrt but not had a response from him yet.

Johnny Wilco made a few,not sure if he’s on the forum,but he’s good mates with mickDB1.
I seem to recall he modified the standard front part of the frame.
