On orders of the local vet ! { read : thick hoor } i have to walk .
This ,to gain a note to say i am able to work again .
God knows i want out of the house , cabin fever ,would be an understatement ..
Anyway , i have been out walking , not too far from home
and unfortunately i have to have someone with me all the time .
I decided i would take some photos of the area , and i couldnt believe
i have never been to these places before , , none of these photos were
taken more than a few miles from Buncrana ,Inishowen .

The first few are around "swan Park " and the walk to "Neds Point Fort" an old British Army fort in the Area.
Such a shame because the Building is in "Structurally " great shape , but losing the battle with the local Grafitti Artists.
The last photo , caused me much intrigue , i never knew we had a wee tractor to put the boat into the water ,
i had always assumed it just ran down the runway . But sure we ALL know the dangers of assumption.

Last two of this walk , show "neds point fort" which is locked.
100% indicitive of the attitude of our local council , or maybe the lack of
""sight"" of our councilors .

Pic 3 , shows the walk area from afar.

Another local Curiosity

Fort Dunree , about 7 Miles out of town.
A new walk around the Old fort .
There are 3 forts in one here .
Interestingly the British were in situ in Dunree until 1938 .

Photo 4 shows the Urris hills , a great Area for Trail riding , allbeit tough , there is quite a few tracks up there.
and an old British single seat fighter plane , that didnt make it back !. The chap that flew it died in the crash.

Pic 1 shows the Gun Base , as far as i can see , i coudnt get down though
these are 6" Shell guns ,but the bit that fascinated me was that the base .
just above where it turns on a toothed wheel , is sprung !! ..

The last pics is a condition know to most men , and affects only women.
I call it the Imelda Marcos syndrome ,,
This is NOT going to become a feature . I cant see me walking after
i get the Cert . Billie however Siezed the chance to Buy MORE shoes! ..

Nice photos

Thanks for posting the pics! I know all those spots well but you've reminded me they are still there to be enjoyed, think ill take a leaf out of your book and have a walk myself starting tonight. Nothing better for getting yourself back on track again and I hope you benefit from it! All the best hi!

Dunree - we wos there, did you see the whale spinal column?

No , But i did see something in the water , It was big ,
and blew water in the air ,on average every 7 - 10 seconds.
Then it vanished . A very interesting place , with a few locked garages :green gri
but Bille was there and she crys , even if she thinks there could be trouble..
And you know , i will have to know ,Why they are locked.. ! ..

Good pictures :thumb2

Did I miss summink? What's been up with you?

:beerjug:

I have a bad run with the hospitals , the biggie being a
Hospital acquired infection late last year .
So i had to go back , and get the procedure re-done .
out about a month now , Not long till i get back and at it..
I got a Haemotoma ? this time , which is no biggie , but can be sore{ i think } and the Local Doc wont let me drive a commercial vehicle . I need a note from him. He talks about weeks as if there days . I go to see him regular , i dont know is it the eur40 he is after or he just likes to see me in a twist..

Sorry to hear about the health issues, I hope they get sorted before too long. In the meantime it sounds like you're trying to entice people up to your part of the world...?

Sometimes think they forget we have lives outside of their surgeries.

Good that you're on the mend.

Please God do not let too many people know what a beautiful island we live on. When the rest are all burned to a crisp or fecked with fumes, we will enjoy clean fresh air and water.

See attached for example....
