I want to transfer my itunes to mp3 and then copy to an sd card to play in my car.
I've right-clicked each tune and then clicked on 'convert to mp3' but when I transfer these onto the card they appear as mpeg-4 :nenau

What am I doing wrong :nenau

You will duplicate the tunes one in whatever it is saved as and one as MP3, do a search on your computer to find out where they are.

Do it regularly for the phone and not downloaded anything.

You can actually do all of this in Itunes.

Goto to Preferences and where it says import setting choose encode with MP3.
Create a new playlist and copy the songs that you want to convert in there.
Highlight the list.
Left click (or ctrl on a mac) and click on create MP3 version
Go to the top of column bar and left click option and select kind as field
Sort
Anything that is a MPEG file is an MP3 and then you can drag onto SD card

If you purchase music from iTunes Apple has encrypted the song under their Fair Play copyright. There are a few programs that can remove this encryption. Or you can burn a disc and then copy it back. Bit of a pain. Any questions ping me.
