I couldn't see that dog at first

What's this got to do with a Bike Show thread

oops I forgot about this part of my original post earlier in this thread :potkettle

Kids in my Nursery had their photos taken a couple of days ago and were a nightmare, this dog in Pet Store beside Ikea was far better behaved

So I take it your not at the show today then, Andy?
I was welcomed with a royal twosome yesterday, and it kind of went downhill from there. :hug
Saw Stumpy, and Judge - who looked really good and healthy.:thumb2 Saw Den wandering about with money to burn, but nothing bought - what did you get then?:nenau
Thought the Stelvio was probably the nicest looking bike there. And before you ask, no I did not go anywhere near the Harley stand, its not my cup of tea. The Varadero looks awful, and the V-strom I'm not sure about. The Triumph look too road orientated - and the man on the BMW stand said there were no discounts on 1200 Adventures.:augie
Bought a bag off Traveldri-Les - my daughter says its a man bag and pulls a face at me.:tears
Seemed to me as if there were less exhibitors there this year - I have been told by someone who did have a stand, that its because the cost of having a stand is becoming more and more expensive.

I didn't go up either none of the lads were interested so it would of been £40 + for diesel ,parking ,entry and food.I'll put the £40 towards chain and sprockets and tubes for the orange thing.

Used to always like have a look around but it seems to be getting smaller and more exspensive every year.Did anyone actually get a real bargin ?

I suppose the only bargain I got was getting my entrance ticket for £6 by buying beforehand.

Skye cleared out the DVLA stand of the few fancy free steering wheel keyrings they had, but the Exped bags I bought were RRP though did save on P&P as I have not seen them in stock in any local outdoor retailers.

Oxtar Infinity's for £90 ?:nenau

Been looking at Bee- Emm's Satiago boots at £205 and apart form the clips they seem the same...

Never mind your armpits (oxtars:D) How did Di get on? Any idea as to the bike she may get?! Go on Di, get a Ducati!!!:thumb:D

lol, prob the only bike i didn't sit on. It's going to be a tough choice between the transalp and the 650.:handbag

good to see elsewhere that you've been out on you new pride and joy :clap:clap:clap:clap

The new 650s look great Di, what did you think of it? Was the height ok?
Transalp's a great bike, it was my first one after I passed my test, really reliable and comfortable on long trips. Looking back, I'd say it was possibly better than the 650. I probably shouldn't say that though!!:o

I saved £362 on my bike insurance which was due tomorrow at 1200hrs so very last minute. Was over the moon- I recon that was a bargain.

They even had some toasters just for you...:augie:augie

all input appreciated cheers.

yep, the height on the 650 was fine - the lowered one is too low. I think the Transalp is slightly higher but hard to tell cos it was on a fancy stand at the show so i couldn't see how it felt to get off the side stand etc

We had a nice weekend out in the big cities. First stop was Motorrad Central in Dalkieth where Fruitcake started off on her new fetish of getting her leg over...

First victim was the new F650 GS. Nice Bike!

650.jpg

The excitement of all that shinny metal and plastic along with free burgers was too much for us so we headed off back to Glasgow for a night oot.

Even early on The BMW stand was mobbed so there is no photographic record of Fruitcakes abuse of the 650 and 800- but there were some comments about her being Velcro'd to the red 650:rolleyes:

Next victim was the Suzuki V Strom, nice bike, stupid name...
"does my bum look big on this?"

Doesmybumlookbiginthis.jpg

Didn't like a lot about this bike- worst bit was the oil cooler hanging right in the path of any crap thrown off the front wheel with only a flimsy wee plastic screen to protect it.

The Kawasaki Versy is a funky looking machine..

GreenMeanie.jpg

Yamaha didn't have the only bike we wanted to see from that range there:(
Then again it is pig ugly and doesn't come in red so it probably wouldn't have been of interest anyway:augie

Now we're talking...

NiceBIke.jpg

Of special interest to Fruitcake was the neat little tail pack that was a good match for her fav handbag...

GenuineHondaTailPack.jpg

The only criticism of the Honda stand was that it was at the opposite end of the hall from the BMW stand so there was a lot of walking between them during the leg over orgy...

Transalp.jpg

We went through into the next hall for an expensive but tasty roast beef roll and watched these guys, Clanadonia- who were brilliant- even bought the CD which was played at full volume on the way home..

We did enjoy the show although the venue a dump....Mud,potholed roads and generally run down- why isn't this show at the SECC FFS?
Don't think we'll be rushing back next year- unless they move the show somewhere better.
