Coolant top up

A quick check with the experts here. I have a 2014 R1200GS and need to top up the coolant. The Hayes manual and BMW maintenance manual don't give clear description of the required coolant. I have a container of Unipart Antifreeze and summer coolant (-30 DegC) in the garage will this be ok to use?

Not really, it depends on what type, and unipart was a rover product so I doubt it would be remotely compatible, the cost of a litre of the genuine stuff ain't going to break the bank, whereas using the wrong antifreeze may be very expensive

Agreed. It's only £12.73 + P&P from Motorworks so not worth the risk.
