Guys, new to the GS but not new to a bit of metal work, so what do I need to remove to fit an oil cooler grill? Then I will try and make my own, no disresect to the others but must be able to knock my own up cheaper, if not I'll bow down and buy one from Reyno. Oh and how are they attached, or do they just stay in place?

Take your screen off, take the silver binnacle cover off and undo the light pod, then you can slot a grill in easy peasy......

Do a search for grills or oil cooler covers from the button oop top, you'll find many threads where people have made all sorts of things for their bikes....some look great, some total pants.

It's intimidating at first, but just whip out your BWM toolkit and ten mins later you'll see how the whole front end fits together.

Bryn,

Cheers mate, can't believe how many times I have looked at that ad and not noticed the link, looks easy enough now all I need is some metal and a plan of attack.

I took the plastic radiator cover off of my Kawasaki Eliminator to make it look better, then felt that the radiator was vunerable to stones. Went along to a B & Q Depot, bought a sheet of mesh, diamond pattern about 8X4, [mesh opening]. Easy to bend, & cut, sprayed it black looked good. Be a tidier job on a GS as the edges can be hidden behind the body work.
