cooper bmw

yes there not a real bike shop i wish m and s would get the bmw franchise they a much better to deal with not like the dull lot at the mill..

the reason they lost it was because bmw wanted them to have a shop only for bmw bike and kit like they have at coopers which is what m&s have done now with yamaha centre at the top of the hill and the suzuki farther down the hill

i have been going to the hill for over 33 years i know a lot of lads that work on the hill there is a lot of good lads but i think m&s has gone back over the past few years and that is not only my opinion and i personally will not deal with them again

in respect to coopers i think steve and paul are good blokes and i would defo deal with them again

I bought my car from them this time last year from next door when it was 'Mill'.
The car sales staff were very good, and a couple of times i popped next door to see what stock they had and to have a mouch about and told them i may be back next year (ie now) to get a GSA off them.
Guys i spoke to, and i don't remember their names, seemed a good bunch.

M&S on the other hand, that being the Durham branch, are not very good on customer satisfaction.
At the moment i have a ST1300 and it was serviced there. After picking the bike up and starting to head home, 1/2 mile down the road the mirror cover came off, went skidding across the road and ended up cracked and badly scuffed. Obviously not re-fitted correctly.

Straight back to the dealership about 2 mins after leaving to have a word and took in the mirror cover. Bloke who i'd been dealing with denied even having taking it off, but the work they did it would have had to been taken it off!!

I shouted through to the mechanic who i could see through the back in the workshop and asked him if he had taken it off, before anyone could have prompted him to say he hadn't touched it, and he said "yeah whats the problem" guy at the service desk was a wee bit stuck for words.

I was told they'd get a replacement and details were taken. Couple of years later i'm still waiting despite letters being sent to various managers at Durham and Newcastle. In the meantime i managed to get a replacement myself.

By passing this info to a few mates i know for a fact they have lost new bike sales and servicing of bikes.

No way in gods earth will they get any of my money again.

m&s

M&S lost the franchise a few years ago.

I had my F650GS from the Durham branch.

Servicing was good but they had no accessories etc.

:nenau

I find the "Boldon Bunch" fine now that I know them a bit.

Horses for courses, I guess.

I have had nothing but excellent service from Mill (Coopers) and......excellent service from M&S,.... does this make me strange?

I think a lot is down to attitude.

Look forward to meeting up sometime :thumb2 if you can go slow enough...

I found Steve the sales guy at Coopers a nice bloke and a straight talker which is very refreshing in the vehicle sales market
I didn't order my GSA off them for 2 reasons one being price and the other delivery time but can't fault their service.

PRICE they cant match or even try to match other dealers is thats a good service for extracting money from the people who dont shop a round..ps paul is very good at his job why dont the others take a look at how he works with customers.

I,m fairly new to Cooper / Mill having only had two Bikes from them. The first was a used K1200 LT which I had enquired about some six months previous. Paul in Sales rang me to let me know they had just taken one in and would I like to be first to see it. Everything was laid back and no hard sell. I bought the Bike at a fair price. I later traded the LT back in for ower present GS and once again the wheeling and dealing bit was a pleasure. Paul Sharman (After Sales) is always helpful with a dry sense of Humour. He got me a spare Key 10 months after I bought the bike at no charge. I,ve never directly dealt with the other Guy in Sales, Steve, but there,s always a greating as we enter the Showroom (his Desk is nearest the door). The workshop Foreman (can,t remember his name, is it John ?) is also very helpful and didn,t seem to mind when I kept having a nose around when my six hundred mile service was being carried out. All in all I would say The Team at Cooper / Mill have got it just about right. Add in the free Drinks etc, nice waiting area and what more could you want. By the way , Barry Robson,s down at York has a similar level of Customer Service environment albeit on a smaller scale. Iv,e been treated pretty good there in the past as well.

Adie, Are you looking for a job with M & S?

When it comes to prices offered by M & S and Cooper BMW I can honestly say that Cooper BMW beat M & S hands down.

I'll give you an example. Other than my 1200 GSA I've also got a KTM 640 LC4 Enduro for which M & S quoted me £325 for the first annual service. Cooper BMW only charged me £140 for the first service on my 1200 GSA including the brake fluid change. Now then, I own an Accident repair, MOT & service centre albeit for cars and light commercials but I know when someone is trying to take my eyes out and M & S were in my opinion doing that!!!

I also considered (rather stupidly and for a very short period of time) trading in my 07 GSA against an 08 Busa. When I went to M & S Suzuki they insulted me with the offer they made on the GSA. Cooper BMW offered me over £1000 more than M & S for my 07 GSA against an 08 GSA. Now i'm not saying M & S are bad as i've no doubt in my mind they have many happy customers, i'm only going on my own experience. But that experience has not been a good one.
