I got a letter from Coopers today detailing how they have a new Dealer Principle, and realise they haven't been providing a very good service recently. They has a series of questions, aimed at improving their service. Whilst thats obviously good, the first question is 'would you buy another car from us'. Clearly a lot of reserch and effort had gone into this attempt. If they don't want to bother with bikes, why sell them.

FFS - tw@s. All they have to do is use the word "vehicle".

Hardly requires the brains of an Archbishop.

Yeah, I got that one too: "would you buy another car from us" etc.

Wrote plenty on it and sent it back. Must have been lost in the post or they've written it off as some nutter that uses that little sideshow motorbike section just outside the front door, because I've heard nothing back in spite of suggesting that a reply might be in order...

Judging by the actions of the car staff the last time I was down there, they regard the bike department as a bit of a nuisance. Shame really.

Last time I went in there they had 100`s of bikes for sale !

I must have missed that day :nenau

I only stop there now if passing is its a waste of time as there never seems any interest in bikes/bikers :spitfire

Apology received

I got the same letter from Coopers and did as everyone else on a bike did :spitfire

Lo and behold a month later I got an apology from the DP saying he did not mean to offend :nenau and that bikes were very important :(

Not too sure what's going on there, guess we'll have to wait and see :helmet

It's just Reading!

Nothing to do with BUMW or Coopers.

Just the attitude that is Reading IMO. :rob

Bad service, belligerent attitude, arrogance and inyerface rudeness is par for the coarse in this neck of the sewage farm!

Bought my bike from there. Wished I hadn't.

They just can't be arsed. Even the guy who seems to run the shop never has time for you. Not a hello, can I get you a coffee. More like "well if you're not gonna buy a bike, I'm not interested mate" way of doing things. Or worse, the "I'm a riding god, who the feck are you?" method!

Also got the "survey" thing and just scrawled "Try Bikes" or some other crap across it to use up their reply paid card.

And as for entering the sactity of the car showroom........ what a f'ing bunch of pinched, puss faced individuals they are. And the staff are no better! Exept the very nice lady who makes the coffe for you. She is sooo nice!

This is the rant forum ain't it? :nenau

Skip.

Back in 2002 when I bought my first BMW, brother and I went into Coopers of Reading. We stood around like idiots, waiting to be spoken to (we were the only people in that tiny so called bike shop), not one word. :spitfire So we walked out the door. :spitfire On that day they lost 2 sales for new bikes.

If they want to get our business, they have to work for it and give customer service, not us going in there begging for them to sell us bike. :spitfire

I use NOG and am very happy with the excellent customer service they provide. Always friendly and chatty, and Zu makes a wicked cup of hot chocolate. :D :thumb

They have my bile for its first 12 month service. Plus warranty work for the tank panel that came loose, and the battery that discharges itself. There are also two recalls for ABS cable routing and brake banjo. They've had it since last thursday and I haven't heard a thing from them. Must be walking to Berlin to get the bits.

Who ??? Coopers or NOG ??? :nenau

Years ago I bought a K75S from Coopers - it was one of their part ex's and was sold as seen.

The day I went in to pay the money (in cash) they kept me waiting for half an hour before they took my money. Might have had something to do with me saying in a loud voice "I have two and a half grand in cash here - is anyone interested in taking it?"

After i paid I was given the key and an envelope with the service book, MOT etc. and told - "The bike's out there". Nobody bothered to come out to make sure I was happy with the controls or anything.

Still - I sold it for £500 profit a year later !

They would have to do something pretty radical to persuade me to go into their showroom again.
