I am too tight to pay for anything. Thats a start. Thus, I downloaded copilot. I ordered a cover from ultimate mobiles and hey presto. Twat Nav innit. I was having a struggle on how to pre plan routes and drop them onto the memory to retrieve later. That is until i found the link below. I know motogoloco has posted there new updated site here as well, so if you are reading this, Thanks. I am using a itn converter. i am very untech savvy and even i managed this. Eventually. (I was trying to export routes as opposed to dragging them across.) The reason for this posting, well, i always try and refer to this site when i am struggling to find something, be it tech, routes, general info or variety of things.

So, if like me, you search here as well, this is my contribution back. :thumb

Also...www.routeconvertor.de - this cracking little app lets you create a route (using waypoints or automatic routing), convert it to .trp format which you download to your Android phone, load route in Copilot and off you go. :beerjug:

The only 'difficult' bit is working out where on phone (which directory) to put the .trp file - it varies according to which version of Copilot (whether you've got the free one, or if you paid for it, how you bought it). The easy way to find it is create a basic route in Copilot and save it with an easily recognisable name, then search your phone to find where that file 'name.trp' has lodged itself.

You're very welcome old bean - it took a bit of digging around to suss out how to do this, but I'm glad it's proving useful.

I used CoPilot on my phone (HTC Android) and routes planned on our route builder for a week's trip to, round and back from Germany at the end of last month and it performed brilliantly. I did cough up for the extra EU maps and Turn by Turn voice commands, but still worked out several hundred quid less than replacing my SatNav.

We're looking into offering .TRP files as an export option from the maps, which will cut out the need to fire up additional software, I'll keep you posted if/when we get this live.

Would love to know if anyone's got my method working on other devices, particularly iPhones...?

UPDATE

We've now got CoPilot route files (.trp) as an available option for exports direct from MotoGoLoco Maps. i.e. you now no longer have to faff about with any 3rd party conversion software to go from GPX to TRN, it's all done for you.
The only slightly tricky bit now is sussing out where your phone/device stores route files for CoPilot, but once you've got that figured out - it's plain sailing.

Happy days!
