The seat is most uncomfortable between the upper thighs.

Couldn't agree more with you, Rob. Got my stock seat upholstered which is now way more comfortable than the Corbin one. A sharp look is not everything.

okay...that's my seat off and in a box, ready to go to Melvin Hunter to be sorted...should get it back next week...

just got this reply from the sergeant suppilers in the uk, every three months the date seesm to move forward...I can't figure how they expect people to wait a year or more for a seat...

"Hello Nadeem
the latest from Sargent is that they are indeed making a seat, but are experiencing some supply difficulties from one of their component suppliers.
Current due date for the R1200 GS seat is late Autumn.

There are no pictures as yet.

You are on our notification list."

is it too bulky and cutting into the upper legs Rob...?

Don't listen to him, he doesn't ride a GS with one fitted BUT I do :)

I however have got that very seat on my GS and have to say yes it spreads your legs at traffic lights BUT if you are going a long way it is the absolute dogs gonads. If your weaving in and around traffic in town you might prefer the stock seat. If you want more pictures let me know and i'll take some more :)

I love it and find it far preferable to the stock seat BUT an absolute pig to lock :)

Had my seat 'Melvined' with 3/4" gell. Find it far more comfortable and visually appealling than stock.

Butts

US seats are made for US butts

The actual problem with the Corbin is the fact that it is much wider at the front which has nowt to do with whether the rider has an American ass or a UK ass.

Not having looked at too many US bike rider butts can you tell me what the difference is ? If your going to say they are all fat then perhaps you need to look at who actually rides a lot of the GS's on this site :) :) :)

OK, probably not too polite a comment. But I've read rave reviews on a number of US boards about after-market seats, be they Corbin, Sargeant, Russell, whatever. And then you realise that the guys doing the raving are, like, 13st or even more and you have to wonder.

But, then, I actually like stock BMW seats. If I can do a 14 hour ride without feeling it then I can't see the point in shelling out large sums of cash for a different seat.

13st or more...... can I foolishly ask what you weigh ? :)

I have done a 12 hour riding day and my butt was numb after it with the stock seat, but that would be my US butt for sure :P Now it should be fine again.

Sorry, didn't mean to cause any offense.

11st 11lb since you ask. At 5' 10" about half a stone above where I should be/was, so I suppose I can talk ...
