Have owned my 2001 RT1150RT for 15 months and done 8,000 miles on it. I am aware that the recommended mileage for oil / filter changes is 6,000 but, being a bit anal in such respects, I do changes every 3,000 miles. Before I embark on the next change, I would be interested in what the rest of you do ! I know that it's a bit of a personal opinion sort of thing, but wanted to see if there was a consensus. On the last two changes I used the Castrol Racing fully synthetic 10 / 50W stuff. I appreciate it is expensive (£15.99 per litre from Halfords) but I have had no problems and the bike goes well.

Opie Oils

Down near you

Do a Silkolene Silkolube 20-50 classic oil for a very reasonable price meets the api spec requirement

Plenty good enough for your old tractor

Use it on my 1100 / 1150

Will even do the 6000 between recommended services if you are feeling a tad reckless :blast
