Sorry to read that its gone soooooo manky fella and I hope you get it sorted. I know you shouldnt have to but mebbe smother the next one in ACF50?

Not sure where this rust water is coming from seems to be from under the rear seat sub-frame area.
Cheers fella being honest I don't think acf50 have made much difference, every joint on both cylinders look terrible, up to now bmw's response is we'll put a new engine in and repair the frame????. I've rejected the bike back to the dealer I've lost all confidence in dealer and the bike.

Just had the 6K service and pointed out some bubbling around the engine casing and final drive. The dealer suggested I wait until nearer the end of my 2 year warranty period to officially report the corrosion to BMW as he said it would likely be a new engine and new final drive.
Seems like a fair deal to me - provided I don't get shafted with a "too late now - you should have told us earlier".
Any thoughts on this?

Am I being duped or is my dealer a decent, salt of the earth, looking out for the little guy, sort of a chap?
mb
Anyone else had this?
The dealers logic was thus....
- If you report it now they will take could the bike in right away and it could be several weeks off the road (in summer!) waiting for new engine, etc.
- If you leave it until the end of the warranty period you will be getting a brand new engine after you have put X thousand miles on your own

There probably trying to put you off making a claim right now, especially if there fully booked up and with all the other issues going on at the mo.
Your dealer should take photos and issue a puma case to BMW and await decision, so i cannot see a reason why your bike should be off the rd, you can stipulate when you would like them to carry out the work, i did when they fitted a new engine in my f8gs, i was due to go to Spain and asked for it to be fitted on my return, i think they have several wks to carry out the warranty work after they have had the go ahead.
I would take regular pictures to show it started early in case at a later date they say it is commensurate with its age.
Another possibility is BMW try to claim it wasn't looked after or cleaned properly.
I might be being unfairly cynical but unless it gets a lot worse it might be easier for them to dismiss it at two years rather than after a matter of months. However if they are as nice as my dealer then you will have nothing to worry about.

Mikebarr! My bike was exactly the same. The dealer took photos of engine and final drive and sent to BMW. Had complete engine assembly and final drive replaced 3 weeks later. Brilliant..!! Get it it sorted now and enjoy your bike.
