Before you all start pointing me to the search function, I've already had a good rifle through but can't find a definitive answer on this.
I know I can replace a lot of the standard bolts with stainless ones such as those in Steptoe's stainless bolt kit, however, what can be done about the more critical bolts such as those for the suspension and wheel bolts?
My bike isn't too bad at all save for the odd bolt that's showing signs of corrosion but I noticed that the worst ones were the retaining / tensioning bolts for the spokes around the centre of the rear wheel. The main wheel bolts look fine to me but the spoke bolts are a little unsightly.
There are also a couple of large bolts that appear to hold the sub-frame to the engine that have seen better days but these look like stress bearing parts too and wouldn't have thought they could be replaced by stainless.
As these bolts can't be replaced due to the fact that stainless isn't as strong as the original ones, what can I do to them in situ to make them look good again?
