Not mine, for sale on Ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234859584100 Not a huge mileage, and only 9 years old. The corrosion is unbelievable, it is everywhere  On the eBay link you can zoom in.

Some corrosion in the usual places……….

A guy who lives on the same street as me has the F750GS and no matter the weather its sits there uncovered and always looks bloody clean.

I bet this is caused by road salt and never rinsing the bike off after riding through it

Corrosion

I think this is a bike that has had a hard life. A lot of gs's look as good as new after 10 yers. All down to the owner.

Jeez..... that's bad. As has been said probably ridden in winter and not even bothered hosing it down. Most of that could have been avoided without having to clean if it had been treated with ACF50. I used to ride an old bandit in 600 all through winter and never bothered to clean it once (over winter) but it was blathered in ACF50 from autumn and then topped over the winter even on top of the grime and filth. When i eventually sold it the thing was mint and bandits weren't renowned for a top quality finish.

you don't want to see my 1150 then .

that is near Doc .

a mate brought an 1150rs from there , very fair dealer when a couple of minor things went wrong , sent the parts , and a service kit for the next service too.

I remember seeing a 2013 gs lc being sold by a main dealer that was that bad , it was less than 4 years old and a trade only sale .

Shocking finish and shocking level of care by the previous owner

about 40 miles since 2019

I bet its been left somewhere damp (outside or under a shite cover).

It's bad but preventable by proper maintenance and care, liberal use of ACF50 or similar and regular hosing down would have stopped most of that.

makes me want to adopt it and wheel it onto the workbench for a restoration project :(poor thing

It happens to every BMW that gets's ridden more than accessorised.

It's obviously not been cleaned after riding on salted roads.

They really don't build them like they used to.

I've has 6 x 1200s since 2005 and what I see there is serious neglect, i.e. lots of salt and left for long periods without washing.

That sort of corrosion does not happen overnight - if you clean your bike regularly you will spot the first signs of any paint bubbling early and take action to prevent it spreading - the owner of that bike clearly did absolutely nothing and just let it rot.
