Corrosion protection

My new bike arrives in a few weeks, and I’ve been asked if I want to pay £400 for a ceramic coating and anti-corrosion treatment.

I don’t, but I thought it worth asking on here if there’s anywhere that does benefit from a dab or a spray of ACF 50 when it arrives.

For the paintwork I had Tony James design PPF applied by the man himself and for the rest of the bike I prefer either FS365 applied regularly and XCP clear for the more exposed bits.

I know many like acf50, but it was designed for use in tbe aviation industry and IMO there's better bike specific stuff available.

I use xcp clear coat applied through an electric paint sprayer. It does pick up a fair amount of dust but has been very effective all through Scottish salty winters.

ACF 50 .....from new here, 19 plate 1250 GSA , 56,768 miles, no problems.

Did you just put it all over?

I took the rear wheel out and used XCP on the rear hub assembly and around the underside of the swing arm after previous bikes got corrosion there. I used FS365 on the rest of the bike avoiding the paintwork, brakes and tyres etc and reapplied that after each wash as I like my bike to look nice all the time rather than having road crud stick to it. I cleaned off then reapplied the XCP before I sold it and the bike looked like new.

XCP every where and use an airline to blow it inot crevices. Most people applying ceramic coatings now are con artists that don't know what they're doing

Lanoguard. It doesn't attract grime and dust like XCP and imho is every bit as good. Been using it on our cars for years. ACF, to be of any real corrosion protection I find needs re-applying regularly and doesn't live up to the hype but does keep things nice and sparkly looking.
