Corsica - Bastia - Livorno ferry

Hi
Heading down to Corsica - (spending five days or so on Corsica) in June - does anyone know whether I need to book the ferry from Bastia to Livorno well ahead or is there enough availability that I can decide when I'm on Corsica?

Also (whilst I'm here) - any recommendations for campsites - preferably not resort-type sites

June is not exactly high season, but I'd book in advance.

We booked well in advance last year...but tbh it wasnt that busy. Only downside of that was, as there were only 5 bikes and a scooter, they stashed us in the bilges! No tie down points or straps! Luckily I carry my own and managed to get the bike secured to a couple of pipes!
I think It would be wise not to get there too early?

There are multiple ferries to Corsica.

Yes the Bastia to Livorno route...with Corsica ferries. Theres is Mobiline and another operator too I believe?

I think just Corsica Ferries and Moby.
Last trip there I used Moby from Genova.

I'd insist on the straps. They are just being lazy.
