I have flight early next mrng so would like to keep it local-ish. The best two so far have been Ballycastle and Howth, imho.

Henry & Rose is a Bray institution and its customers include DART-weary commuters, seaside strollers and drunken monkeys after some stodgy soakage.

Situated right opposite Bray DART station, the H & R menu offers quality chipper fare. Combining chips and cheese with anything is readily encouraged - garlic cheesy chips, bacon cheesy chips, chilli cheesy chips, you get the idea. Veggie burgers, chicken burgers and cod are also available, as are milkshakes and other beverages. It's a popular family chipper by day but renowned as a haunt for Bray's after-hour revellers by night. It stays open until about 4am on weekend nights so you'll find a rake of pub-happy divils carrying on the party outside H & R in the wee hours. Security and take-no-prisoners staff ensures that messing and messers are kept outside.

There is no seating area inside but the promenade is just minutes away so you can take a stroll along the beach to walk off the cheesy chips! Arguably the best chipper in Bray.

Bray not a bad idea little run round South Dublin North Wicklow. Only other idea Skerries, can't remember name of chipper but on Strand Street just before harbour, harour wall sit on. V good coffee shop next door (Seasons). Bin you should choose as you're home so seldom.
