Whilst you can use your UK membership without issue in the USA…

…USA Costco does NOT accept Mastercard.

Bloody Costco, every time I visit I spend over £100 and have almost nothing in the trolley.

Half the time the stuff I want isn't even on sale just the usual acres of pastries, bog roll, booze and clothing..

I hope the American stores are better than ours.

funny that so do I.....
and no, they are identical in every way to the UK ones, layout, butchers , clothes etc...

Costco , bought a Garmin sat nav for my first 1150 in 2003, oddly enough it had batteries and an card in it and then found I could not register the unit as it was already registered.

Checking the details on the unit and it showed a European tour recorded in its memory , checking online it gave the name of the registered owner.

Took it back and spoke to the store manager and complained, name recognised as am employee who had a bike and had recently been away to Europe.

Cnut had taken it ftom stock , used it then returned it to stock.

Got a new replacement and hopefully the employee got shafted

I was a bit frustrated that the fuel station wouldn’t take my card in America, being tight it hurt having to pay more elsewhere!

It worked for me - several times!

If it doesn't, call over the attendent and show them your UK card and they can overide the pump to give you access.

When we were over there about 6 years ago, they accepted Visa and Mastercard. But NOT Amex, as the fees to them were too high

It's actually known as the £100 shop to us.

You must be shopping solo.
I've never spent less than £200 in there when I have the wife with me.
Great store, products and prices though.

Last time I went I spent £198 but that was filling my car up, I try to make sure I don’t go when it’s busy because you can only put £99 in at a time so I nearly always have to fill up twice. 100ltr tank.

I've never bought fuel there (Farnborough does not have it) - roughly how much cheaper per litre is petrol and diesel?

Costco only sell premium diesel so it’s normally 20-25p per litre cheaper than other premium diesel garages, 5-10p per litre cheaper than ordinary diesel elsewhere. Makes a difference with 100ltr tank.

Been to the one in Anchorage....lucky I was on a plane or it would have been a lot more than 100 quid! The one in San Francisco isn't too shabby either!
