Cotswold Motorrad

It was great to see such a good turn out last Saturday so thanks all that turned up!

There's a lot on here about Cotswold Motorrad but all I can say is call in any day of the week have a coffee meet the team and you'll see we aren't a bad bunch and here to help.

Thanks Peejay for saying that at the start of this thread, just hope my boss doesn't read it! :blast

I'm new to Gloucester so if there's any decent weather in the near future and I have day off will have to get out and find some good roads around these parts! Any suggestions?

We will be the judge!

A touch of self praise :augie................lets just see how it goes...we the customer will let you know:pullface

I have been into Cotswold and talked to Ben, found him to be very freindly.

I had problems with BVM and so went to North Oxford who I found to be excellent.

I don't think just because the show room is new and posh should put you off, it's the people and the service you get that counts, I will be using Cotswold in future. :)

Had a very pleasant time at Cotswold last Saturday. Here are a few pics:

Andrew, Ben and I are all pleased you enjoyed yourself and look forward to seeing you again.

Of course, it helps if I make the piccie links work :blast

Great photos - although those beauties would photo well anytime!

Glad some of you were able to make it; I wasn't able. I'm from Cheltenham, but now living and working out of Bristol (really miss the old turf). Anyway, it'd just be another excuse to visit family living in the area and have a nice ride up the A roads (get a choice either side of the M5, although I prefer the more interesting A46 to the A38).

I’m gonna call in and have a look at the new shop tomorrow, as my mates looking to trade in his 1200GS for a GSA.
It looks like they might have a decent used one there.

Gloucester Motorrad

I have purchased 3 new BMW Bikes from BVM and found the bikes and dealer excellent.

2001 - R1150RT
2003 - R1150RT
2006 - K1200GT

For a tourer the newer shape K1200GT is absolutely superb and in my opinion easily beats the R1200RT and similar bikes from other marques. Heated seats and cruise control - yahooo. I know it is not a GS but I do like my comforts.

I moved house a few days before Xmas and decided it is time to quit biking as getting on in years :rob but mainly cos no garage at the new place.

Ben Paterson at Cotswold Motorrad seamed like a decent chap and offered me £6850 but wanted to get the bike checked over by the mechanic before releasing the cheque. I thought this was a fair price for my 1 owner, 56 plate K1200GT SE with 19,000 miles. No accidents and to me looks a stunning bike in superb condition. 18,000 mile service done by BVM in Nov 2009 which even included new tyres, MoT and the bike also has 11 months tax.

I left the bike with Ben and the next day I got a call from him saying there was signs of corrosion on the final drive or something which I had never noticed and he could now only offer me £5900. :fiddle

Needless to say I am not accepting the offer and Cotswold Motorrad gets a big thumbs down from me as I would not trust them

Does anyone use bike covers? Are they any good for keeping the weather off?

Apologies for the rant but I feel better now.

Cheers,
Steve

Did they point out the corrosion to you when you picked the bike up and if so I assume you feel it isn't bad enough to knock nearly a grand off the total?

rust

Jesus £950 for a patch of corrosion ,that they wont repair an still sell as a used bike for probably £1000 more than you would get payed, theyr not called stealers for nowt!!!!!:toungincheek:thumb2

And the whingeing begins, they dont have to buy your bike and you dont have to sell it to them, not very complicated is it! But guess what its a business, they make money, they buy at one price and sell at another thats the choice you make, come back and whine when you are paying a wage bill and building costs like they are, otherwise put it on ebay :thumb2

No one is in business to do you any favours all you can hope for is to be treated fairly failing that go somewhere else :rob:blagblah

As I said in the original msg that I was having a rant. Now I have had a nice Xmas break and calmed down, I came to the conclusion it was a fair offer as I have used the bike through a couple of winters so the corrosion would result. I had a call from Ben and he assured me that they will need to replace the corroded part in order to sell it as an approved BMW. I have now taken the offer of £5900 from Ben as this is not the time of year to be selling a bike on Ebay and I wouldn't want all that hassle anyway. In fairness to Gloucester Motorrad, they are the only dealer around who showed any interest in buying my bike.
