Those coming on 4 wheels, is it possible to bring something (BBQ, brazier etc) that would allow us to have a bit of a campfire? Doesn't need to be marching-season scale, something small would suffice. I can bring the wood.

Huge thanks to Tom (TJMouse) who refined this using his extensive local knowledge, and also agreed to lead the ride. If you're new to this part of the world by the way, a tour like this is a real treat.
We've planned stops at CTL and also the Motor Cafe where 'Enry usually stops during his episodes. It's a quintessential British motor cafe...probably!
Good riding, interesting stops, should be great.
I'm not a massive advocate of uber-organised drop off rides.... I'd prefer to say try not to lose sight of the guy behind you, pause and re-group if we get split by traffic lights, and if we do become separated, we're all grown ups and we all know where we're heading for the next stop, so RV there.
Last year we managed perfectly, fuelled purely by common sense.

Arrived at about 5.30 this afternoon. Apart from a couple of very pikey looking vans up on the hard standing I think I’m going to be the only camper tonight. About 10 people in the pub. The beer is very very good. I think it’ll be a cold night.

Did you manage to avoid the rain on the way down?
Nope, one very heavy shower near Macclesfield got me soaked through before I could stop for waterproofs. I was bloody freezing for ages. It was the rain tomorrow morning in the NW I was trying to avoid. I’ll trade 10mins or so of heavy cold rain though for 100+ miles of shitey wet motorway rain though.
There seemed to be road closures and long diversions all over the bloody place though. M6 was advertising 50mins delay j17-15 which I was going to avoid anyway by going via Knutsford-Macclesfield-Leek-Ashbourne and some fiddly bits round Burton Trent to find the Fosse Way into the Cotswolds. Knutsford to Macclesfield closed in two places. On my diversion route I found another closure!!! More closures near Burton saw me near Lichfield to find another bloody road closed. Then two closures on the B4455 Fosse Way. 6 hours to get here in the end. But it was warm and dry for the most part.
