Couple of 1200GS questions

lol guys.....how you know i'm from hull!!!

From East Yorkshire and call yourself Tyke,it's the only place you could be from,i was born and lived in Hull till i was 17.

Depending which area you are from we could have gone to the same school,we are the same age?

I should add, with respect to panniers, I'm unlikely to do any serious offroading, the worst I forsee is riding into camp sites etc. So I'd want a set of luggage appropriate for road touring, shopping etc.

Something with a nice large beer capacity :)

Varios for me as they are bang on for all on road needs - neat - waterproof - easy to remove - expandable - basically nice bit of kit.

Off road aluminium ones - downside you look like a wide load paramedic - but pratical.

Off road for me - soft waterproof luggage reduces width and improves balance against aluminium boxes if serious off roading as the Gs is wide enough.

One wheels enough :bounce1:roll:roll:bounce1

Mouse hasn't had a GS for a couple of years now. He did the PJM rally on it with a top box on instead of the rear seat, then he totally drowned it in a very deep mud hole whilst laning and inhaled lots of sludge. I've been out with him when he was two up with Clare and he put a lot of us solo's to shame. :bow
He is currently riding a 950 Adventure, which I see is down on the entry list for the Hafren tomorrow, and Clare is also entered in the beginners class. look forward to seeing them there, and will point out that his 5 year old thread has been dragged out of the archives!
