couple of clutch change questions

Hiya guys,the Haynes manual states you should put a smear of spline lube between the pressure plate and spring,is this a must?and there seems to be no sign of leakage so can the seals be left alone.cheers

I'm putting one in at the moment too. Don't know about lube between plate and spring though. I usually put moly grease (probably the wrong kind but hey) on the gearbox output shaft where it engages with the clutch though. As for the seals - I would just leave them be
