Dear all I'm just new here.
First of all I would like to say hello and make a formal presentation but I cannot find where I should do it. Sorry about that. :nenau

Therefore I'm using the same post where I would like to ask your help in a couple of questions.

1.- Since few weeks ago I cannot disconnect the heater on the handle bar. The switch seems to be working fine, but it is working all the time.
I never use water to clean it and I even use air to dry all the electric components in case they could get wet after washing.
I tried to take a look and clean it with contact cleaner, but is still the same.
Somebody told me could be a program failure, what do you think?
Any solution? or the only one would be replacing the whole switch? :(

2.- I'm thinking about installing the Electronic suspension of WP, what they call WP EDS 2. What do you think about it?

many thanks for your help.

regards.

Ola!

1. As you cannot turn the heat off, it is easiest to start looking at the switch.

2. WP have a good reputation.

I fitted standard Ohlins (not electric) to my 2006 GSA and have been very pleased with them.

1. I'll do a double check on the switch, just in case . . . . .

2. about the suspension I saw over here Wilbers as an option that some user do recomend. So I would liket to know:

Do they have also electronic regulation?
Would it be a better option than WP?

I know I make so many questions.
I hope I could correspond in some ways, maybe with recomendations to visit nice places and finding nice roads down here.

regards.

Don't worry about the questions or your English :thumb2

Also, check the wires between the grips and the switch, just to make sure it hasn't broken. I doubt if it has as a break should result in a loss of electricty (the grips should be off). A dealer may be able to plug your bike into a diagnostic computer to find the cause of the problem.

I would guess that the Wilbers and WP suspensions are very similar in performance.

I am sure any suggestions on good roads would be welcome. There is a section just for Spain and the Pyrenees in the Travel section.

many thanks for your answers.
If I get any results that might be interesting I'll post it here.

I'll take some time to go thru other sections from now on.
regards.

Well I've got some results/ information that I share here for you:

suspension - the only option to have electronic adjust like the ESA, is the WP.
ohlins do not have yet nothing for bmw like they have for ducati.
wilbers works fine when ESA is installed to replace original shock absorvers.
I'll try to get more information because they claim it is very easy to install.

heater - Finally with some help I reached to found the problem. the cause to fail is the grey key we have to press to activate it.
the key is partially broken,, on a very small piece, so is not activating the circuit. I wonder how this could break?
now the question is looking for replacing this small part and not the whole switch. :blast

thanks for your suggestions and ideas.

regards.
