had a scary experience the other day.....after topping up the tank on my 2003 'adventure' i rode off only to discover fuel spraying around over myself and the hot engine. i didn't panic at the time but after investigation i discovered that the QD fuel connectors had cracked (all 3 of them).
anybody else had any problems like this ?
the dealer i spoke too was quite surprised and arranged for them to be replaced, which was nice !
if this is really abnormal then no harm is done but if its gonna be a common thing then maybe BMW should recall all the bikes and fit some connectors that can do the job properly.....or would that cost them a few euros and be a little embarassing.
merry xmas and a drunk new year to you all

I broke the right angled cross connector the other day - it was a very cold morning and I expect this made the plastic brittle - but that was when I was trying to undo it (it has always been very awkward to use - the replacement joins and comes apart really easily by comparison).

I can't quite see how all 3 managed to fail at the same time - sounds very odd to me - are you sure it wasn't the clamps that loosened - that's a known fault...

Mike:confused:

What size is the fuel line on the GS? I was going to get some spare connectors but need to know if the fitting is 6 or 8 mm.

inside diameter of tubing is 8mm, let us know if you get aftermarket connectors; they could well be better than the cheap ones MBW use
