How strong is the cradle used by the 660 for the bike mount as i have the Touratech Mount which is good but bulky , as i have just fitted a new screen and it gets in the way.
Anyone had any bad experiences with the standard mount ? Or recommend it as never used it.
Thanks

I used the standard mount over some very rough ground (might have even dropped the bike once or twice :augie ) never had an issue.
Mine is mounted direct to the cross-bar behind the GSA screen using U-bolts.

I've used the standard mount for a couple of years now. 2 LONG trips off road round the Pyrenees, various off road trips round the UK including and local Salisbury plain runs. Looking at it never fills me with confidence but it has never come loose or had the 660 come out and the bike has "laid down for a rest" a few times. Only "issue" is it would be a snich to nick it while filing with petrol, and I'm always a bit nervous when I chose to leave it on. Most times I whip it off.

cheers

I will now disassemble and trust the advice :thumb:thumb:thumb:thumb

Standard mount has been fine for me.

Easy to use, too.
Same here! :thumb2 There's a little grub screw thingy at the top in the back that can be done up to "lock" the sat nav into the holder. Not the strongest of screws but may help to put off a tealeaf for a few seconds. :nenau

I hadn'e noticed this! I tried last night, but it does not seem to screw into anything. When I lift the bar at the top, I see the top of the hole it should go into - is there meant to be a not in there or anything?

cheers
