Tourances lasted less than 4k miles on my Aprilia Craponord

Basically, if you ride very smoothly and don't brake or accelerate hard then your tyres will last. Kinda defeats the object of riding a bike for me though as that's a huge part of the enjoyment

Some of us have no choice but to ride on motorways a LOT.

Hard braking and acceleration is not possible/recommended unless you're driving inside a BMW not riding on one

Hopefully my next job is nowhere near London so I can use some twisty roads on my commute. Over the last 4 years I've forgotten how to ride around corners

Never got more than 5800 out of a set of pr2s, and they were getting beyond where they should have been.

Agree re shoulders wearing out 1st, though a good dual compound tyre.

The BT021's were toast at 3400 miles and sliding around all over the place. Unfortunately I was at a funeral in Perth at the time, so I bought the most suitable tyres Strathern Tyres in Crieff had in stock - BT023GT's

The grip and handling are vastly improved, especially two-up with luggage. However, because the rear carcass is much stiffer, the ride quality solo is very harsh, bone jarringly so on some of my favourite goat tracks. Switching the ESA to Comfort mode helps, but I won't be fitting another pair once the rear wears out.

I made a big mistake when I fitted BT 021's to my Bandit. Worst tyres I'ver ever experienced. The front wore out before the rear as well as the fabled stepping problem, they were very unstable in the wet and totally ruined my confidence. As a result I'll never buy Bridgestone tyres again. The 023's get a better wright up but in future its PR's on the bandit and I'm sticking with the Tourances on the GS. Very very poor show from Bridgestone!

Thanks to Garmin routing, I've been riding some narrow, twisty and variably-surfaced roads in southern France for the past couple of days. I have had to deal with Kamikaze French farmers doing 120 round blind bends on the wrong side of the road (to get home in time for lunch) and my own ineptitude on hairpin bends (especially the very tight uphill right-handlers which I've developed a phobia about). Tonight, I did battle with traffic in Antibes and Nice where, apparently, there are no road traffic laws and it's just "dive for that closing gap to get home 5 seconds earlier" mentality. In all of this, the PR3s have performed faultlessly, never once letting me down. I have felt that they are my friends, helping to make up for various deficiencies, including my own.

This will probably be my last post as I have now tempted fate and will be killed tomorrow as a result of a terminal slide. C'est la vie, mes amis

f800s brought new came with bt014's, it was wonderful almost motorcyle nivrana, put a 021 on the rear utter shit bike would have felt better with a avon deathmaster on it. would not have them @ £20 a pair fitted pr3' all the way
