Can I have your advice on the best Crash bars for a 1200gs. I keep seeing them on ebay and wondered if I would be better off buying with BMW originals or are there some other good makes of bars out there?

Hepco and beckers from motobins
Easy to fit and when I dropped the bike last year (whilst getting off...) they totally protected the rocker covers. The bm ones dont unless you also fit the head guards.

Well........up until yesterday i would've said TTech - but after having a pretty bad "off" in Spain, when they grounded, lifted the front & slid me across the road....I won't be fitting any when I'm fixed up!!

Motec for me 4, good value and looks, and I am assured by those unfortunates that have had the misfortune to test them, do the buisness.

Hepco and becker are super strong. I had a set fited to mine and I crashed it very hard up a rocky climb on the Hafren just gone. I expected to see half the engine missing, but There were only scratches to the bars.
I had tank protectors on too, which make getting the side panels off impossible. I doubt the tank protectors are really needed.

I never tried to service the valves on mine, but I recon you probably could do it.
