Are the crash bars on a 1150 gs the same fitting as on a GSADV?
I bought a set off ebay and I cant get them to fit on my adventure, the bars I bought bolt to under the engine or on the sump gaurd and the other fixing is under the tank, to complete them there is a cross bar from one side to other in front of engine , unlike other GSA bars these do not have the part that bolts behind the cylinder :nenau

crash bars

No they are diffrent hence the "missing bit" adventure crash bars have this bit and also fit differently under the engine. Lookk out for adventure crash bars. have fitted adventure bars to my 1150 gs this invoves alterimng the sump gaurd to accomodate the centre stand. Look on bob's bmw site this has a micro fish that covers all the details. Look for under engine protection.

So this is where the 'For Sale and Wanted' forums have been hiding for the past four years.........

Cut him some slack - he's just joined and it's his first post

Martin,

Welcome to the forum :thumb2

A post here:

would probably catch more attention.

By the way, it's not usually considered a good idea to post your phone number in an open forum ;)

Dear Sir

Welcome to the site but drop the dear sir bit, people on here will think your taking the piss!!

Well he managed to find and resurrect a four year old thread easy enough so finding the "wanted" section should be a doddle. :D

Crash Bars

Dear All,

This is a hard site to use or is it me? anyway, I still looking for the crash bars for the R 1150 GS Adventure 2004.

Dear Martin,

As you managed to ignore the subtle hints, I'll try to spell it out for you:

TRY THE 'WANTED' SECTION OF THE 'FOR SALE AND WANTED' AREA OF THE SITE.

....and no, this site is not difficult to use. You should have seen the old newsgroup which preceded it!
