Create DVD/movie software needed...

I had ULEAD VideoStudio8 with XP, but it doesn't want to play ball with Windows 7.....locked up too easily anyway....

I only need basic stuff, but the Windows DVD maker is a bit too basic....

Any recommendations?....Anything free out there?...
