CREATING A ROUTE - IN THE UNIT ?

I use an SP3 (with the latest Mapsource loaded) and have a number of pre-planned routes downloaded from the computer. I know how to create a route from your current position - entering via points etc, but how can I create a route in the unit from a different waypoint to the exisiting position ? Eg, If I'm at "A" I want to create a route from "B" to "C" - not "A" to "C". I've had a beer, so hope this makes sense.

I'm pretty sure that this little box of tricks can do it, but how? I have tried "New" route, but it will only ask for the final destination, and not the waypoint that I want to start from.

I'm not the right guy to answer this, but as no one else is I guess "wrong guy" is better than "no guy".
Im using Garmin Ique 3600, not SP3.
If I want to do what you describe I will have to manually "move" my current location, either by giving an address, coordinates or tap it in on the map. This can only be done with the GPS reciever off, therefore I'm not sure it is possible at SP3.
After moving my "location" I can route as usual, as long as I don't turn on the GPS.

I don't think it's possible to do on a SP3. It can only route from your current location - or so it seems.

I thought you'd cracked it for a minute JOP, but sadly no - it still insists in routing me from the last known position if I switch the GPS off. I'm going to have another good fiddle about tonight, before I give up on it though. Will keep you posted.

HowTo: create an automatic route from another location
If you want to create a route that does not start on your current location, you have two options: you follow the HowTo: create a manual route with via points that follows roads (but that is only available from firmware version 2.09beta upwards) or you follow this HowTo.

You start by setting the GPS V to Indoor Mode, by going to the satellite screen, pressing , selecting Use Indoor and pressing . You now are Simulating GPS reception and the V does not track the satellites. Now we again press .
We select New Location and press .
Select Use Map and press .
Now move the pointer to the start of the route you want to create (use and if you like) and press . The GPS V now sets it location to the coordinates of the pointer and you can use to create an automatic route to the desired destination.

This is where the problem comes in, as it appears you can't do that on a SP3.
