Are all the various cross spoked rims and hubs compatible with each other?

I might want to lace an 1100/1150 front hub to a 1000 rear rim but there's not much point in measuring and planning if the wheel can't be made.

The above assumes I can get spokes made to length or that there are standard ones that will fit.

Special wheel

I dont think it will work as the angle the spoke enters the larger rim bends the spoke, it can be done but its expensive speak to moorespeed engineering.
Good luck.

Thanks.

I'll have a poke round Moorespeed's site and then possibly bother him.

Hi there,

Did you (anyone) find out if an 11x0 rim will fit an R100GS rear hub? Looking to go 4 inch rims and do the swap on my R100R.......

That's interesting, that sounds rather like the spokes on an old (1934) car I'm restoring, the spokes on that are bent at one end too, so- who knows- I might have the same problem myself when I get around to doing the wheels. I'll have a look tomorrow and ask around, it's a very popular make for restoration and someone is bound to know.

I didn't need to find out in the end as the 1150 front hub was too wide for the XR650R forks on mine. To get enough clearance and for the brake rotor to line up I'd have had to have custom made yokes.

ah good point, i had better wait till my new forks arrive before i do any more buying for the front of the bike! thanks.

I frend of mine has a back r1150 rim on his front hub of his r100gs supermoto !!! and on the back he has a 4 inc rim spocked aut of center not schure what that come of but the firm HE motorrad technick can sort you aut thier proberly looking at around 600 euro a wheel ! would of thought beter to use a second hand wheel of what ever the forks came off !!!
