Cruise control + disabled indicators!

Hi folks
In mid Pyrénées in remote area. On 1300 GS. Today and yesterday got cruise control and collision warnings. This locked the TEF screen and could not cancel using wheel. This in turn disabled indicators plus horn plus access to all menu functions or sat nav! So frikin unsafe. Tried disconnecting battery and of course multiple turn off on sequences. So system wide electronic meltdown. Biggest worry loss of indicators. Brake lights do work. Anyone else had this problem. It’s been very wet and bike been over several 2000 metre passes so wondered about lowered pressure and humidity?
Advice gratefully received but please do tell me to ride to nearest BMW dealer. 2 nearest too busy to see me this week!

Left switch gear toast ?

Check cabling to it for loose plugs maybe or water ingress

Right hand switch gear has been replaced on some bikes as a recall due to water ingress but not the left as far as I know

Yes, this was the final straw before my 13 was returned. it was a failed lithium battery.

had exactly those symptons - from memory, no indicators, brake light, suspension not working, speedo showed three dashes only ie no speed etc.

I had total electronic failure of the left switch gear on my 2024 r1250gsa. It occurred several times, always at startup, and would not clear until the bike had been powered off for around 30 mins. Software update sorted it.
 
If you have warranty, call assist, they will come out to you .

if recovered to a dealer, they have a service level agreement to deal with breakdowns within 48 hrs


(Thats what i was told when mine broke down )

If you disconnect / reconnect the battery, start it immediately without pausing and take it for a spin to charge it. If there’s any voltage drop between reconnecting and getting the engine moving the bike starts to switch things off hence need to get battery to charge.
